Throughout 2007 and 2008 I was filming a series for Animal Planet called 'Wild Dog Island'. It's the story of Greg Rasmussen and Peter Blinston at Painted Dog Conservation in Hwange, Zimbabwe. Their mission is to conserve and increase the range and numbers of the painted dog both in Zimbabwe and elsewehere in Africa by providing conservation tools and education material that can be used to protect this highly endangered carnivore.

We followed a newly formed pack of 6 dogs, released on a remote island with no enemies, only impala and waterbuck. Unfortunately, 4 of the 6 dogs have become victims of crocodiles predating in the shallows off the island. It's unclear what the next step is in the story, but the first episode is due to air on Animal in December 2008.
